AMBIT

In the distant future, factions of society are divided up based on genetic lineage and further separated by vast asteroid nations. A newly freed young man with a coveted genome sets off to discover the meaning and costs of freedom in the midst of a trade war between Earth & its celestial nations.

Setting the Stage:

A looming sense of anxiety plagues humanity. In the decades and centuries since space travel has been possible, mankind has not ventured out of the asteroid belt, let alone the solar system despite substantial technological advancements. Evidence of external, sentient life has yet to be discovered. Humanity still only has itself.

Rising oceans have changed much of Earth’s continents. Terraforming has been mastered, reverting past ecological mistakes made. Technology has allowed humanity to reside on the surface of oceans, making land masses more or less irrelevant. Celestial nations orbit Earth and commence trade through massive space elevators. The asteroid belt is diverse and rich in culture.
