8-BIT MKE LOGO
Social Media | Brand Identity
Josh is a talented photographer and a good buddy. About a year and a half ago he started a little photo venture where he took to the streets to document Milwaukee through the lens of a Gameboy Camera - yes, a Gameboy Camera. The attachment fits into the unit like a regular game cartridge. It debuted in 1998 in Japan and ceased production in 2002. But thanks to the internet, you can get your grubby little hands on one.
The images are rudimentary and, well, 8-bity. But there’s an appeal to the simplistic, abstract shapes. For subjects like Santiago’s Calatrava in Downtown or the sunburst statue, the images take on new forms and give a new perspective. Isn’t that what art is about?
LOGO
I’ve been wanting to play with sprite art for awhile now and this project was a great excuse. Creating the logo was a fun exercise and I really like what Josh is doing with this idea. It’s a cool account and I’m happy I could contribute to its growth.
